Build Incoming Links

To build incoming links in the thousands is possible, is do-able, is a slow process, but the quicker you start a linking campaign the quicker you will see results.

This method is one of the ways I use that can give you an unlimited supply of possible incoming links.

The research is time consuming, but once you have your list complete, into categories, you will be able build links from either directories, forums, blogs, link exchanges and so forth.

To gather this list you need your main keywords, these keywords will be used with google and yahoo to gather your link list.

Take a website about juggling, the main keyword would be juggling, visit Google and type juggling into Google. Find a website that would be in competition with you from the first page of results.

Please select a domain name eg : www.anycompetitors.com

Open up a blank Microsoft excel sheet ready to work on.

Go to Yahoo Site explorer, you may need to open an account but that only takes a few minutes.

It’s Free and your be using it a lot from now on.

At the top of the screen type in www.anycompetitors.com and hit explore URL.

This will bring back a huge list of results, at the top of the screen hit inlinks. This will open up two little drop down menus.

Choose except from this domain in the first drop down and then only this url from the second drop down menu.

Ok…..now near the top of the screen on the right hand side it says export results to TSV.

Hit that button, then hit open when prompted too. A new screen will appear with what looks like a complete mess, at the top of this new screen hit the edit button and selest select all.

Right mouse click on the content that’s highlighted and choose copy.

Click over to your excel sheet and in square 1A (top left), right click and select paste.

This will paste all the information onto an excel sheet with column B being a huge list of all the websites that link to one of your competitors. If your competition can create links from this websites then it is likely that you can too.

[box type=”notice” ]Note: If you are using an older version of microsoft word then it may not split the information automatically.[/box]

In this case click on column A so the whole column is highlighted and click on data and then select text to columns from the drop down menu.

Then chose delimited and click next, then tick the other box only and put a forward slash into the spare box. Then click next and finish and then column C will become your list of websites.

You can delete the other columns if you wish.

Continue to do this with other website domains until you have a huge list of addresses in your excel sheet.

Now what is very time consuming is visiting each and every one of these websites and writing in the column next to the web addresses whether it is a journal, blog, forum, directory, possible link exchange or article website.

Once this is done you have a list of :

  • Article websites to post articles at.
  • Forums that you can join and visit on a regular basis and leave a link to your website.
  • Blogs where you can leave comments and a link to your website.
  • Journals where you can leave comments and a link to your website.
  • Directroies that you can add your website too.
  • Other related websites that you can exchange links with.
  • Now by doing this you will build incoming links to your website from the same places as your competition, then all you need to do is to continue to build incoming links.

Yes this is time consuming but worth the work.
